This week, the Year 4 and Year 5 pupils turned into budding chemists!
Working in teams of ‘scientists’, we carried out various experiments to find out whether certain liquids were miscible or immiscible.
Before each experiment, we began by forming a hypothesis: would the mixture be homogeneous or heterogeneous? We then made the mixtures and observed the results carefully.
After each experiment, we compared our observations with our hypotheses to confirm or refute them.
This session helped us understand that, to do science, you need to ask questions, form hypotheses, experiment, observe and draw conclusions.
A true scientific approach!
