DNB internship oral exam at secondary school

This morning, Year 10 pupils took their oral exams for their school leaving certificate. For this test, they had prepared a slideshow presenting their work experience placement: tasks carried out, skills discovered, professional environment and personal feedback.

In front of a panel, they then had to defend their work orally, explain their choices and demonstrate their ability to analyse what they had learnt during this immersion in the professional world. The exchange continued in the form of a discussion, allowing the panel to assess their ability to argue a point, their critical thinking skills and their oral fluency.

Beyond the assessment itself, this exercise is often a first concrete experience of formal public speaking, but also an opportunity for students to gain confidence and reflect on their future career paths.
