This week, our school experienced something extraordinary: the first Interclass Games bringing together the PS, MS, GS, CM1 and CM2 classes! It was great because everyone took part, from the very young to the very old, and we formed five super-colourful teams: red, blue, green, yellow and multicoloured.
Each team had a mix of older and younger children. We encouraged each other, we shouted and we gave it our all! There were team events like the relay race, the obstacle course, the famous caterpillar and the very fun balance race. We had a lot of fun running after each other!
But there were also individual events. The nursery pupils played pétanque, threw rings, knocked over skittles and aimed at targets. Meanwhile, the older pupils in CM1 and CM2 played target practice, threw discs and rockets while doing mental arithmetic, and ran blindfolded (with a blindfold, of course!).
The games started on Monday, continued on Wednesday, and on Thursday there were still the two funniest races: the caterpillar (we were laughing so hard we were hardly moving at all!) and the balance race, where you had to make sure the bricks didn’t fall. Even Deneisis, Monica, Yilanys, Regla and Olivier laughed along with us!
Les Premiers Jeux Interclasses maternelle et élémentaire: A competition
In the end, everyone got a gold medal, because we were all great, and each team won a trophy. The overall champions were the green team made up of Nawel, Ibrahima, Juan Antonio, Salma, Carmen, Eva and Francesco. But there was more to come…
After lunch, teacher Deneisis and teacher Olivier prepared a delicious SURPRISE: a bowl of vanilla ice cream with biscuits. Mmmh, that was the best snack ever!
We all loved the Interclass Games. We hope to do it again next year!
