Today, they are the ones who speak: the artist, the music teacher… and the students themselves. Each with their own voice, emotion and memory.
It all began with a song. The French musician Julien Rouvière arrived in Cuba to record his new album, and in particular a song inspired by the French astronaut Thomas Pesquet. He wanted a children’s choir. And he chose our pupils. Under the direction of teacher Isadora Cruz, the CE1 and CE2 pupils rehearsed for several weeks. They learned much more than a melody: they discovered the value of listening, teamwork and the courage to create. And yes… they recorded in Silvio Rodríguez’s legendary Studio Ojalá! They discovered the place, the microphones, the process… and they even met Silvio. In the end, it wasn’t just a song. It was an experience that will stay with them forever. A fine demonstration of what the LFIH is all about: a school where learning is also living… and above all, feeling.
