This week, pupils from the school’s CVC and CVL clubs organised two key events as part of School Engagement Week to promote the values of citizenship and democracy within the school.

A ‘My Voice Counts’ message board

On Wednesday, all pupils at the school had the chance to take part in a message board initiative to make their voices heard on life at the school. They were able to express themselves freely on a large message board. Among the many suggestions and ideas put forward by our pupils were: organising cultural events and themed days, trips to museums or the cinema, opening the library during the lunch break, and even opening a school canteen.

These are wonderful ideas that could inspire some great projects.

A giant ‘citizenship quiz’

On Thursday, pupils from the lower and upper secondary schools competed against one another in a giant citizenship quiz hosted by pupils from the CVL. Dozens of questions on the French Republic, citizenship and the history of democracy helped to decide the outcome between the various teams taking part in the competition. In the final, the lower secondary school team lost by just a few points to the upper secondary school team.
Everyone was able to make the most of this fun competition to deepen their knowledge of citizenship and democracy; in the end, there were only winners!
