Our visit to the Medi acción exhibition

This week, we went to the Alliance Française to visit the Medi acción exhibition. It was a very special outing because we got to meet an artist, discover original works and even create our own pieces.
Maria Heredero Jimenez, the exhibition’s curator, introduced us to each piece. She explained how an exhibition is organised, how the works are chosen and how they are showcased. Thanks to her, we gained a better understanding of what the artists aim to convey.
We met Shanaya Herrera, an artist exhibiting her photographs and collages. She explained her work to us and asked us questions about how we felt when looking at her pieces. We found her creations very original.
After the visit, we worked on an important theme: family. Everyone had to create a piece representing the feelings we have towards the people we love: joy, tenderness, pride, protection… We used different techniques: drawing and painting. Our pieces were all different, but they all spoke of emotions.

Our comments:
Hugo: “It’s a nice space. I really liked the piece ‘The Bone in the Hair’.”
Thimoté-Pierre: “I found it surprising that the artists create works that every visitor can alter.”
Christy-Luna: “ I loved it because it’s the first gallery where you’re allowed to touch the artworks.”
Matia: “I felt free to draw whatever came into my head.”
Elodie: “We met a real artist. I enjoyed admiring my classmates’ artworks and showing mine.”
