Following this first part, which was full of discoveries, the day continued with the extracurricular activity workshops, followed by the ‘Festival of Nations’. This event brought together more than twenty countries, each showcasing its culinary specialities, traditions and vibrant colours. The stalls, brimming with flavour and diversity, invited visitors on a true culinary journey, where a warm atmosphere, lively conversation and smiles were the order of the day.
This multicultural celebration, reflecting the school’s spirit of openness, was enhanced by the presence of Mr Raphaël Trannoy, French Ambassador to Cuba, whose visit honoured the entire school community.
The LFIH would like to extend its warmest thanks to all those who helped make this day – resolutely festive and unifying – a moment where learning, cultures and shared pleasures blended harmoniously, leaving everyone with memories of a moment as rich as it was unforgettable.
On Saturday 11 April, the LFIH Alejo Carpentier, as is its custom, opened its doors for a day dedicated to discovery, sharing and celebration. Parents and children were able to come together in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with the parents taking their places, if only for a moment, at their children’s desks in the classroom.
At both the primary and secondary schools, the pupils brilliantly brought their learning to life. The Year 11 class gave a fine performance of Alfred de Musset’s famous play *On ne badine pas avec l’amour*, whilst Year 7 pupils captivated their audience with a theatrical performance in English. In other rooms, history was revisited in a fun way through guessing games, whilst an ‘escape game’ immersed participants in an adventure.
