On Thursday 8 May, we went by bus to the Rocio farm with teacher Laurence, Eva, Fabien, Olga and almost all the children. We were very excited. When we arrived, we put up the tents.
There were lots of animals. We saw two dogs, and we stroked the black one because the other one could bite. We saw some bees and tasted their honey. There was also a hen, chicks and peacocks whose feathers we picked. In the evening, Nubia even touched a frog, which scared us! To call the pigs, we learnt that we had to shout ‘a-roué! We loved seeing these animals because they were all pink, funny and cute (especially the little ones) … they ate any way they could and rolled around in the mud.
Eva had us play a treasure hunt. We had to look for hidden cards in the garden, read them and complete the challenges to win letters. We liked the one where we had to make a man out of coconut shells. The treasure was the snack.
At mealtimes, we ate tomatoes, cucumbers, rice with chicken… We enjoyed eating because we were so hungry! Afterwards, we had to brush our teeth.
The teacher made us read page 88 of The Piano, but fortunately we also had time to draw, dance and play in nature.
At the end of the day, we showered and went to bed in the tent. It was hard to get to sleep as some of us were moving around a lot, but we were proud to spend the night without our parents for the first time!
