Last Wednesday, our CM1 class organised a major debate on the role of screens in our daily lives. Parents and pupils got together to exchange ideas and share experiences. It was a very enriching moment, as we were able to better understand the impact of screens on our lives.<\/p>

Before the debate, our teacher asked us to fill in a questionnaire with our families to analyse our screen habits. We discovered that some spend several hours in front of the television or video games, while others try to limit their screen time.<\/p>

The discussion covered a number of topics:<\/p>

– The benefits of screens: They allow us to learn new things, communicate with our loved ones and entertain ourselves.<\/p>

– The risks of screens: Too much use can damage our health (eyestrain, lack of sleep) and reduce the amount of time we spend together as a family.<\/p>

– Striking a balance: Thanks to discussions with our parents, we’ve realised that it’s important to set rules for using screens responsibly.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

At the end of the debate, the teacher suggested that we set up a screen time contract in each family. This contract allows children and parents to set rules together on screen time, disconnection times and activities to be done without technology.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

We all enjoyed the debate, which helped us to better understand the impact of screens on our daily lives. Thanks to the discussions, we became aware of the importance of striking a balance between digital and other activities.
