le nom de l\u2019un des plus grands \u00e9crivains cubains: Alejo Carpentier. La c\u00e9r\u00e9monie a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sid\u00e9e par Mme. Anne-Marie Desc\u00f4tes (Directrice de l\u2019Agence pour l\u2019enseignement fran\u00e7ais \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger) et par M. Jean Mendelson (Ambassadeur de France \u00e0 Cuba).<\/p><p class=\"p2\">Alejo Carpentier \u00e9tant n\u00e9 d\u2019un p\u00e8re fran\u00e7ais architecte et d\u2019une m\u00e8re russe professeur de langues, on a longtemps pens\u00e9 qu\u2019il \u00e9tait n\u00e9 \u00e0 La Havane o\u00f9 sa famille s\u2019est install\u00e9e peu de temps apr\u00e8s sa naissance.<\/p><p class=\"p2\">La vie de cet \u00e9crivain est en soi un pont culturel entre La France et Cuba. Il avait 12 ans quand sa famille s\u2019est install\u00e9e \u00e0 Paris o\u00f9 il commence \u00e0 \u00e9tudier la musicologie. Quand il retourne s\u2019installer \u00e0 Cuba, Alejo Carpentier commence des \u00e9tudes d\u2019architecte, qu\u2019il ne terminera pas. Il se consacre au journalisme, mais son engagement \u00e0 gauche lui vaut un s\u00e9jour en prison (1928), sous la pr\u00e9sidence de Gerardo Machado, avant de l\u2019obliger \u00e0 s\u2019exiler en France. Il y rencontre les surr\u00e9alistes, dont Andr\u00e9 Breton, Paul \u00c9luard, Louis Aragon, Jacques Pr\u00e9vert et Antonin Artaud. Durant ce s\u00e9jour en France, il fait plusieurs voyages en Espagne o\u00f9 il d\u00e9veloppe une fascination pour le Baroque.<\/p><p class=\"p2\">De retour \u00e0 Cuba en 1939, il poursuit une carri\u00e8re de journaliste et de chroniqueur de radio. Il s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 la culture afro-cubaine. En 1943, il est marqu\u00e9 par un s\u00e9jour \u00e0 Ha\u00efti. En 1945 il s\u2019installe \u00e0 Caracas (Venezuela) o\u00f9 il vivra jusqu\u2019en 1959. Apr\u00e8s le triomphe de la r\u00e9volution cubaine il revient \u00e0 La Havane. Ses \u0153uvres les plus connues en France comprennent <i>Le Si\u00e8cle des Lumi\u00e8res<\/i> (1962), <i>La Guerre du Temps<\/i> (1967), <i>Concert baroque<\/i> (1974). Son premier roman, <i>Ecue-yamba-o!<\/i> (1933), est d\u2019inspiration afro-cubaine. Dans <a href=\"http:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Le_Royaume_de_ce_monde\"><i>Le Royaume de ce monde<\/i><\/a> (1949), son premier grand roman, il \u00e9voque le mouvement r\u00e9volutionnaire ha\u00eftien. C\u2019est aussi dans le prologue de ce roman qu\u2019il d\u00e9crit sa vision du <i>real maravilloso<\/i>, que les critiques identifieront au <a href=\"http:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/R%25C3%25A9alisme_magique\">R\u00e9alisme magique<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Son s\u00e9jour au Venezuela de 1945 \u00e0 1959 lui inspire manifestement la description du pays sud-am\u00e9ricain sans nom o\u00f9 se d\u00e9roule l\u2019essentiel de son roman <i>Le Partage des Eaux<\/i> (1953).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Son roman <i>Le Recours de la m\u00e9thode<\/i> (<i>El Recurso del M\u00e9todo<\/i>), publi\u00e9 en 1974 est l\u2019un des grands romans de la litt\u00e9rature latino am\u00e9ricaine \u00e0 tracer le portrait type du dictateur. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 adapt\u00e9 au cin\u00e9ma par <a href=\"http:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Miguel_Litt%25C3%25ADn\">Miguel Litt\u00edn<\/a> en <a href=\"http:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/1978_au_cin%25C3%25A9ma\">1978<\/a> sous le titre <i>El recurso del m\u00e9todo<\/i> (sorti en France sous les noms de <i>\u00a1Viva el presidente!<\/i> et <i>Le recours de la m\u00e9thode<\/i>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">En 1975 il re\u00e7oit le Prix mondial <a href=\"http:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cino_Del_Duca\">Cino Del Duca<\/a>. Il re\u00e7oit le <a href=\"http:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Prix_Cervantes\">Prix Cervantes<\/a> en 1977 et le <a href=\"http:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Prix_M%25C3%25A9dicis\">Prix M\u00e9dicis<\/a> en 1979.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Il meurt \u00e0 Paris le 24 avril 1980. Son corps est transf\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 Cuba, o\u00f9 il est enterr\u00e9 dans le cimeti\u00e8re Col\u00f3n de La Havane. Ses fun\u00e9railles sont c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9es le 28 avril, en pr\u00e9sence du pr\u00e9sident Fidel Castro.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><em><strong>Le lyc\u00e9e fran\u00e7ais de La Havane rend ainsi hommage \u00e0 ce grand \u00e9crivain et tient \u00e0 perp\u00e9tuer l\u2019importance de son
